About Laura Marelli

I started studying tango in September 2001, supporting it with the usual practice and passion for dance and artistic gymnastics, which began at the age of nine.

Already in 2002 the tango takes me away from home, to regularly follow the seminars with the Masters Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Ann, the technique lessons of Alejandro Aquino in Genoa and of milonga in Turin, with the great dancer and Maestro Pedro Monteleone.

An encounter, the one with Pedro Monteleone, who transported study and passion into a professional dimension:
In 2003 I started a collaboration with him as a course assistant in Genoa and Turin, and I work alongside him as a partner in exhibitions and shows.

In 2006 I have finally given way to independent teaching experiences with dancers and fellow students in Milan and Modena, I collaborate in the realization and dance in the shows of the Academic Dance Center of Savona, I perform at the "Fiera Primavera" Municipality of Genoa, at the Modena Theater in Genoa, at the Oriente Occidente Festival in Rovereto (TR).

In the meantime I continue to study and update my training as a dancer and teacher with important Argentine masters: Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega, and those who marked my first training: Federico Rodriguez Moreno and Catherine Berbessou. I follow their lessons and their internships both in Italy and in France in a systematic way for several years.
In those years I continue to collaborate as a dancer and teacher with associations of the Western Ligurian and the French Riviera.

From 2010 to 2013 as a couple Idlir Mehmetay I enrich my teaching path and I participate in shows and exhibitions in Liguria (Fiera di Genova, Mediterrarte).

In 2014 I founded the TangoZero asd Association and laid the foundations of a teaching based on the naturalness and functionality of movement, a way of teaching that wants to be consistent and in line with my way of dancing.

In 2016 I meet the Argentine teacher and dancer Juan Cantone with whom I start dancing and teaching in Italy and abroad in internships and seminars. With him was born, from a common idea, the “Connection Tango” brand, which brings Juan's teaching and his technique to many European and North American cities.

From 2016 to 2020 (January / February) I go to Buenos Aires every year to deepen my training as a dancer and at the same time teach with Juan Cantone.

In 2019 together with Juan I realized for the first time the project "Journey into the depths of tango". A 10-day international study seminar in Buenos Aires for professional and amateur dancers that will take place annually. The project is replicated for two consecutive years: 2019 and 2020.

Since September 2020 I have been collaborating permanently with Pablo Kliksberg, an Argentine professional dancer and teacher. We are currently working together in Savona, where we hold collective courses and guided practices.
My activity as a promoter and organizer, as a dancer and teacher continues every day, always driven by the passion and the will to spread a quality and research tango. As well as daily workouts and training.
